Overview
Finance SME (General Accounting) role focused on timely, accurate month-end and financial statement deliverables for property portfolios.
What you'll do
- Prepare timely and accurate monthly property financial statements for complex properties across a 6–8 to 6-property portfolio.
- Review end-to-end work assigned to the team for a portfolio generally around 8–10 properties.
- Review month-end close journal entries (accruals, prepayments, mortgage, and related corrections/reclassifications) for accurate accounting records.
- Perform monthly bank and mortgage follow-ups for outstanding or unreconciled items from month-end.
- Conduct monthly variance analysis for balance sheet and P&L codes to explain deviations beyond a threshold limit.
- Prepare and deliver monthly financial packages in line with internal and external client deadlines.
What you'll need
- Experience with monthly property financial reporting and month-end close activities.
- Ability to review journal entries and accounting corrections/reclassifications for accuracy.
- Experience conducting variance analysis for balance sheet and P&L accounts.
- Experience supporting budget preparation, including compiling assumptions and capital budget information.
- Experience assisting with year-end reconciliation processes.
- Ability to perform financial reviews and serve as a resource to newer team members.
