Overview
Finance Systems Engineer, Tax builds production integrations and tax technology that make revenue and purchasing bookable, taxable, and auditable.
What you'll do
- Own tax-related changes in the billing codebase and billing-to-tax-engine integration.
- Lead AP tax engine implementation across ERP-connected purchasing flows, including data migration and go-live validation.
- Build and iterate tax-specific products and internal tooling across the tax stack (reconciliations, data pipelines, transfer pricing datasets, withholding tracking, and validation tooling).
- Own production connection points between the tax stack and data infrastructure for ingestion.
- Build SOX-aware ingestion control totals and source-to-target tie-outs with audit evidence pipelines.
- Design and build tooling to apply Claude to tax work and provide evidence/data self-serve for tax colleagues.
- Serve as technical owner for vendor implementation handoffs and remain accountable after go-live.
What you'll need
- Hands-on experience building or owning production integrations against billing platforms, ERPs, or enterprise tax/finance systems.
- Tax-systems fluency in at least one domain (indirect tax engines, corporate income tax provision/compliance, withholding, R&D credits, or transfer pricing).
- Proficiency writing production-grade Python with testing and code-review discipline.
- SQL proficiency sufficient to build reconciliations and validate data end to end.
- Experience building or operating SOX-aware data flows like IPE and control totals.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Ability to work directly with vendors, auditors, engineers, and the tax team.
Details
- Annual compensation range is $205,000–$270,000 USD (OTE for sales roles).
- Work location uses a hybrid policy: staff expected in an office at least 25% of the time.
- Visa sponsorship is available in some cases.
