Senior Analytics Engineer, Product

Overview

Senior Analytics Engineer (Product) to architect event data models that turn raw product events into reliable analytics for decision-making.

What you'll do

• Design and build scalable data models and pipelines using dbt.
• Define and implement a semantic layer to standardize metrics and dimensions.
• Collaborate with Product, GTM, Finance, and leadership to deliver dashboards and analytical tools.
• Establish data modeling standards and best practices for accuracy, performance, usability, and maintainability.
• Design tracking plans for new product surfaces to ensure accurate event implementation.
• Own product event tracking strategy, including naming, properties/schemas, identity resolution, sessionization, versioning, deprecation, and documentation.
• Define structure, taxonomy, governance, and modeling patterns for product event data.

What you'll need

• 5+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, data science, or similar.
• Deep expertise in SQL, dbt, Python, and Snowflake.
• Experience with modern BI tools like Looker/Omni (or similar).
• Skilled at defining business and product metrics and resolving data inconsistencies.
• Strong familiarity with version control (GitHub) and CI/CD.
• Experience modeling high-volume, semi-structured product event data (e.g., JSON payloads and nested properties).
• Experience with product analytics tools (Mixpanel, Segment, or Amplitude).

Nice to have

• Early employee at a hyper-growth startup.
• Experience with or knowledge of AI and LLMs.
• Data Engineering experience.
• Experience managing a data warehouse (preferably Snowflake).
• Experience at world-class enterprise organizations.
