Overview
People Analytics AI Engineer (Staff AI Engineer) within Samsara’s People team, building secure, scalable AI workflows and HR technology solutions that automate and improve core HR processes.
What you'll do
- Design, develop, and maintain HR tech solutions that enhance delivery of people programs.
- Streamline HR workflows and improve data quality to drive measurable productivity gains.
- Build and deploy AI-powered tools and automations for core HR processes (e.g., self-service, intake, onboarding/offboarding, knowledge retrieval, planning, performance/talent, total rewards, document drafting/analysis/translation).
- Integrate people systems with enterprise platforms (e.g., Workday, Google Suite, Slack, Salesforce, Greenhouse) to ensure data flow, scalability, and reliability.
- Identify gaps in data, tools, and processes and lead initiatives to close them.
- Enable end users with documentation, training, technical support, and troubleshooting.
- Partner with People team members and cross-functional stakeholders to support roadmap planning and experimentation.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree or comparable work experience.
- 8+ years of relevant experience building and scaling production-grade enterprise applications and integrations.
- Hands-on experience with large language model (LLM) applications, including prompt engineering and retrieval-augmented generation.
- Proficiency in Python for scripting, data manipulation, and interacting with APIs.
- Experience with SQL or NoSQL databases including data modeling and query optimization.
- Experience with automation platforms (e.g., Workato, UiPath, Zapier) and platforms like AWS, data warehouses (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift).
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
