Forward Deployed Engineer - AI Prototyping & Product Engineering

Overview

Build AI-powered products for life sciences and healthcare teams, moving from rapid prototyping through full-stack product engineering, enterprise integration, deployment, and continuous improvement.

What you'll do

• Partner with business and domain teams to translate complex challenges into high-value AI product opportunities.
• Rapidly prototype, test, and refine solutions through short build, demonstrate, learn cycles with users.
• Build end-to-end AI applications using Python, TypeScript, React, foundation models, and reusable platform capabilities.
• Apply AI-assisted development tools and coding agents while ensuring quality, security, and maintainable engineering.
• Develop retrieval-augmented generation, document intelligence, agentic workflows, and automation for life sciences use cases.
• Integrate AI products with enterprise application programming interfaces, data platforms, identity services, and authorized business systems.
• Deploy secure, reliable applications on Amazon Web Services using Amazon Bedrock and appropriate cloud services.
• Establish automated testing, evaluation, observability, continuous integration and deployment, and sustainable operational practices.
• Embed privacy, security, traceability, human oversight, and appropriate controls throughout the product lifecycle.
• Measure adoption and business outcomes, turning successful solutions into reusable capabilities that accelerate future AI products.

What you'll need

• Approximately 8-12+ years of professional experience.
• 5+ years building and delivering production software.
• Proven ownership of applications or products from problem discovery through deployment, adoption, and continuous improvement.
• Strong Python expertise with the ability to build complete, production-ready applications beyond notebooks, prompts, or model endpoints.
• Working-to-advanced TypeScript, JavaScript, and React experience building functional and intuitive user interfaces.
• Strong engineering fundamentals across application programming interfaces, data modelling, databases, authentication, testing, containers, and cloud deployment.
• Hands-on experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery practices, building maintainable solutions suitable for production environments.

Nice to have

• Experience building generative artificial intelligence solutions using foundation models, retrieval-augmented generation, agentic workflows, and tool integrations.
• Experience delivering technology solutions within life sciences, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, or another regulated environment.
