Overview
Member of Technical Staff (Full-Stack Engineer) on the Capacity team within Cloud Economics & Capacity Management, building products used to forecast, reserve, and optimize compute capacity across AWS and GCP.
What you'll do
- Design and ship end-to-end product features, from interactive, data-rich UIs (React, Python/Dash) through the APIs and services behind them
- Develop responsive, accessible front-end interfaces using modern frameworks, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS
- Build and maintain scalable back-end services and APIs (Python preferred) with solid business logic, data models, and integrations
- Design and query databases (SQL and/or NoSQL), and optimize for performance and data integrity
- Work directly with product managers and stakeholders to shape requirements, not just implement them
- Write design docs for features you own and take part in architecture reviews
- Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests, and improve CI/CD pipelines
- Participate in the team's on-call rotation: debug production issues and improve monitoring and alerting
- Use AI-assisted development tools effectively, holding generated code to the same quality bar as your own
What you'll need
- 3+ years of professional software engineering experience, including shipping user-facing product features
- Strong experience with a modern front-end framework (React or similar) and a back-end language (Python preferred)
- Experience building data-heavy UIs such as dashboards, tables, and charts, with attention to usability and performance
- Solid SQL skills and experience designing REST APIs
- Hands-on experience deploying to a public cloud (AWS preferred; GCP or Azure also valued)
- Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation and troubleshoot production issues
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, especially in design docs and code reviews
Nice to have
- Experience with Dash/Plotly or other data-visualization libraries
- Front-end performance work: rendering, bundle size, virtualization, Lighthouse/Web Vitals
- Experience with Kubernetes, Trino/Presto, or Airflow
- Experience with monitoring and alerting tools
- Knowledge of AI and LLMs, and experience using them in development workflows
