Overview
Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) for an Enterprise Sales Pod in Bangalore, embedding with enterprise customers to architect and deploy production systems on Telnyx’s global network.
What you'll do
- Embed with enterprise customers to understand communications workflows, AI use cases, and integration challenges.
- Build and deploy custom implementations using Telnyx APIs and WebRTC.
- Run open-weight LLMs in customer environments (via Telnyx Inference or self-hosted stacks when required).
- Deploy and operate LiteLLM as a model gateway, including routing, load balancing, retries, fallbacks, and rate limits.
- Instrument and govern LLM usage with cost tracking, logging/observability, and guardrails.
- Wire production observability and design model routing strategies for real-time voice workloads.
- Lead POCs/pilots and production launches from whiteboard to go-live, resolving complex integrations.
What you'll need
- 3+ years building and shipping production software used by real end users.
- Proficiency in multiple languages including Python and Node.js/TypeScript or Go.
- Practical understanding of production failure modes for models (rate limits, timeouts/retries, streaming, token/cost accounting, concurrency failures).
- Comfort deploying containerized services on Kubernetes with secrets management, configuration, and upgrades.
- Experience wiring observability and being paged (Prometheus/Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Graylog/ELK or equivalent).
- High-concurrency experience with Kafka/message queues/event streams.
- Experience building APIs from scratch (OpenAPI, REST/GraphQL, auth, rate limiting, versioning, idempotency).
- Comfort working on customer sites and in high-stakes technical conversations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
- Based in Bangalore or willing to relocate; the role is described as hybrid with travel across India.
- Legally authorized to work in India, or eligible for sponsorship.
