Overview
Forward Deployed Engineer focused on migrations for customers across APAC, working hands-on on production-grade data migrations, integrations, and automations in India.
What you'll do
- Own the technical execution layer from feasibility assessment and implementation through testing, rollout, validation, and operational handoff.
- Deliver repeatable migration lifecycle steps including inventory/scoping, transformation design, pilot/dry run, UAT, production cutover, reconciliation, remediation, and documentation.
- Translate approved customer and regional requirements into technical designs, implementation plans, test strategies, runbooks, and delivery estimates.
- Build production-quality migration utilities, backend services, data pipelines, integrations, and automations using Python, SQL, APIs, databases, and cloud infrastructure.
- Debug failures across application code, infrastructure, customer data, third-party systems, and the Notion platform.
What you'll need
- 3 to 6 years of hands-on experience in backend/data/integration/implementation engineering or similar technical roles.
- Strong hands-on Python development experience.
- Working experience with Node.js, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
- Strong SQL skills and understanding of relational databases, data modeling, and data transformation.
- Experience with REST APIs, JSON, authentication, webhooks, and system integrations.
- Experience owning production migration/integration/implementation through mapping, transformation, testing, rollout, validation, and handoff.
- Experience with Git, code review, automated testing, release practices, and production deployment.
Nice to have
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, job orchestration, or infrastructure automation.
- Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Familiarity with message queues, event-driven systems, observability, and distributed-system patterns.
- Experience migrating large volumes of content/data between enterprise platforms.
- Experience with AI/LLM application work, evaluation frameworks, or agentic workflows.
