Founding AI Data Engineer - Optexity (India)

Overview

Founding AI Data Engineer role at Optexity to work with proprietary clinical reasoning data and build/evaluate models and benchmarks.

What you'll do

• Work with proprietary clinical data from hospital and clinic partners to surface insights.
• Build clinical reasoning models to improve physician and clinic workflows.
• Design and publish benchmarks for where current LLMs fall short on real clinical reasoning.
• Evaluate computer-use models on real-world tasks.
• Own the training and evaluation pipeline end to end.
• Take open-ended problems from question to working model.
• Write up findings as technical reports and papers.

What you'll need

• Real research experience, including the ability to define a problem.
• Trained models experience (not just fine-tuning APIs) and Python fluency.
• A bachelor’s degree in computer science or related fields.
• Motivation for open-ended problems and ambiguity.
• Desire to publish rather than only ship.
• Capacity to take ownership without needing guidance.
• Preference for startups over big tech, with speed and ambiguity.

Nice to have

• Prior founder or founding-engineer experience.
• Strong product taste.
• Experience working on healthcare datasets before.
• Built LLM-powered products before.
• Ambitions to start a company someday.
