FP&A Analyst

Overview

FP&A Analyst role within ABB Finance, supporting business performance analysis, month-end reporting and financial planning and forecasting.

What you'll do

• Analyze business performance versus plan and forecast.
• Perform month-end closing activities and MIS reports for the respective business or functions.
• Work with other financial professionals in Divisions, Hubs, Countries and functions to understand and analyze the drivers of financial performance.
• Analyze overhead under/over absorption, indicating root cause (true up/true down of cost).
• Perform cost/benefit analysis and analysis of inventories and NWC.
• Prepare ad-hoc reports as per business or function requests.
• Support preparation of relevant organization financial reporting, business planning and forecasting.
• Support audits.
• Validate accuracy of financial data and business information and reports by performing reconciliation and review of exceptions.
• Optimize own performance by developing automated solutions, eliminating duplications and coordinating information requirements.
• Identify areas for process and report standardization across countries, divisions and business units.
• Ensure processes and controls within own area of responsibility are implemented in line with Group and unit requirements.
• Maintain proper audit trail and documentation for future tax, internal and external audits and reviews.
• Maintain SOPs for all activities performed.

What you'll need

• Bachelor or Master's degree in Finance and/or Accounting.
• Up to 4 years of experience in Financial Planning and Analysis.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Thorough, detail-oriented approach.
• Strong communication skills.
• Fluent in English.
• Experience with MS Office.
• Ability to work with diverse teams across different countries.
• Self-motivated with a strong commitment to quality.

Nice to have

• CMA or MBA Finance.
• Hands-on experience in SAP FICO modules.
