Front-End Software Engineer

Overview

Front-end software engineer on a game development team, building and supporting in-game features, development and operational tools for SG products, and contributing to game design.

What you'll do

• Implement and maintain client-side code for desktop and mobile games in a thorough and timely manner.
• Work on client/server-based applications using a variety of technologies including Typescript, JavaScript, HTML, CSS etc.
• Identify new tools/improved processes to aid the Development team in delivering new Gaming products.
• Contribute to the development of new/innovative games and different features in a game.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 3-5 years of software development experience.
• Strong understanding of JavaScript, its quirks, and workarounds.
• Experience in Data structures (JavaScript or any programming language).
• Basic understanding of web mark-up, including HTML5 and CSS3.
• Experience with development tools including IDEs, debuggers, bug tracking required.
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git, CVS, SVN.
• Familiarity with Object Oriented Programming techniques and languages.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of advanced JavaScript libraries and frameworks such as React JS, AngularJS, jQuery, NodeJS etc.
• Hands on experience on other programming languages such as Java, C++, Python etc.
• Familiarity with front-end build tools, such as Grunt.
• Distributed application (client/server) development experience.
• Game Development experience.
• Experience in UI development and animations.
