GCP Tech Lead

Overview

Lead GCP data engineering work as a Tech Lead, delivering and maintaining data pipelines and ETL/ELT solutions on Google Cloud Platform.

What you'll do

• Develop, test, and maintain data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes using Python, SQL, and GCP services.
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries in BigQuery for transformation, extraction, and analysis.
• Design and implement data models within a data warehouse.
• Collaborate with the project team to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve data pipeline issues and data quality problems.
• Contribute to documentation and follow data engineering best practices.

What you'll need

• 10-12 years of total IT/cloud consulting experience.
• At least 5+ years hands-on experience with GCP services (BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Dataflow/ETL).
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Demonstrated ability to lead GCP projects with measurable outcomes.
• Strong communication skills for stakeholder management and executive presentations.
• Agile ceremonies certifications preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience with Dataproc or Vertex AI, or integration with Snowflake/Databricks.
• Familiarity with CI/CD using Cloud Build, IAM, and monitoring (Cloud Monitoring/Logging).
• Knowledge of data governance, compliance (GDPR), and cost management in GCP.
• Certifications preferred: Professional Data Engineer, Professional Cloud Architect.
