Generator winding engineer

Overview

Support the design of generator windings for new and refurbishment hydro projects across different regions, and provide technical support to design, supply chain and site installation teams on winding topics.

What you'll do

• Deliver design work packages for generator windings using technical guidelines and reference projects.
• Provide technical support to factories, supply chain and site teams on winding topics and insulation systems during the entire lifecycle of the projects.
• Lead cost reduction and improvement actions related to generator windings.
• Participate in validation of winding design tool updates.
• Participate in design review meetings with other engineers, functions and consulting engineers.
• Support other engineers on topics related to generator winding design, testing specifications and customer discussions.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering from an accredited university or college.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in hydro generator winding design and insulation systems.

Nice to have

• Ability to work in a multi-cultural and multi-locational environment.
• Ability to travel.
• Knowledge of CAD tools.
• Bilingual (French and English).
• Good analytical skills.
