Graduate – Subsurface – Reservoir Engineering

Overview

A 3-year graduate programme in Reservoir Engineering within bp's One Subsurface programme, based in Pune, with two rotations for breadth and technical depth.

What you'll do

• Integrate geoscience, rock, fluid, pressure, facilities and wells engineering data to understand hydrocarbon reservoir and/or storage container performance.
• Plan new developments and/or optimize the economic recovery of hydrocarbons and/or storage solutions.
• Take part in well and/or area performance work, such as reservoir and well reviews, reservoir performance analysis, reservoir fluid characterization, well planning, or flood management.
• Support reservoir and/or storage management, such as setting depletion strategy, generating field development options, or reserves estimation.
• Support reservoir and/or storage simulation, such as history matching or reservoir model updates, and developing data analytics solutions.
• Work on projects and support your team to find the best solutions.
• Help maintain performance within your team and for bp as a company.
• Build relationships within bp and with external partners, collaborating across functions, segments and teams.
• Demonstrate drive and dedication through the bp values, with an emphasis on safety.

What you'll need

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's or postgraduate degree in Petroleum Engineering or Applied Petroleum disciplines.
• Maintain a CGPA of 7 and above.
• Class of 2027.
• Willingness to learn, a passion to excel and deliver results.

Nice to have

• Demonstrable data science skills, advantageous for any geoscience candidate: proficiency in using statistical methods to interrogate large datasets for geological insight, and in scripting languages such as Python and R, and development environments such as Jupyter and RStudio.
