GTSM - Site Reliability Engineer - CB&P

Overview

Provide Level 2 site reliability and production application support for Barclays' financial crime services. Ensure availability, resilience, performance, and scalability across global applications.

What you'll do

• Provide production support and respond rapidly to incidents and escalated user queries.
• Participate in major incident calls to identify root causes and restore services.
• Monitor, maintain, and optimise system performance, availability, and resource usage.
• Develop tools and scripts to automate operational processes and improve resilience.
• Collaborate with development and technology teams on reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency in application support.
• Communicate with senior stakeholders across technology, compliance, and project teams.

What you'll need

• Experience providing effective production support.
• Experience resolving problems, escalating issues, and managing priorities.
• Linux or Unix experience with Unix commands for deployment, automation, and housekeeping.
• Experience with Java applications, Oracle, SQL, or RDBMS.
• Experience with at least two middleware technologies, including JBoss, Apache Tomcat, or GlassFish.
• Experience with microservices, containerised platforms, or public cloud technologies.
• Flexibility to work shifts and provide occasional weekend and release support.

Nice to have

• Experience with AppDynamics, ITRS, TWS, Autosys, Jenkins, GitLab, Kafka, Kibana, or eSaaS.
• Programming skills in Shell, Java, Python, ML, AI, or GenAI.
