Hardware Architect/Engineering Manager for Electronic Solutions

Overview

Lead hardware engineering and architecture for Thales electronic solutions used in defence and aerospace applications. The role covers architecture decisions, feasibility and trade-off studies, proposal preparation, project coordination, and hardware integration, verification, validation and qualification.

What you'll do

• Develop and maintain hardware architecture across the product life cycle.
• Perform technology trade-offs and feasibility studies.
• Lead hardware architectural studies and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities.
• Prepare project proposals, schedules, effort estimates, documentation and reviews.
• Identify and manage hardware architecture risks and opportunities.
• Integrate hardware, FPGA firmware, mechanical packaging and software, and perform IVVQ.
• Coordinate testing, qualification, certification and project progress reporting.

What you'll need

• B.Tech/B.E. in Electronics, Instrumentation Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• 12–15 years of relevant experience.
• Strong experience across the complete hardware development, qualification and certification life cycle.
• Experience with IVVQ, requirements management, bench testing and performance evaluation.
• Experience integrating hardware, FPGA firmware, mechanical packaging and software.
• Experience with electronics troubleshooting, risk management and multidisciplinary teams.
• Leadership, communication, collaboration, organisation and autonomy.

Nice to have

• Master’s or postgraduate qualification.
• Avionics or defence systems experience.
• Knowledge of DO-254, DO-160, ARP4761 and ARP4754B.
• Avionics product knowledge, including calculators, displays, inertia, GNSS or probes.
