Hardware Engineer (Board Design , PCB layout) 4 to 8 yrs , BLR

Overview

Cisco Network Hardware Engineering team designs and develops industry-leading networking hardware products and solutions, covering system/board design, PCB layout, hardware automation, performance characterization and power analysis.

What you'll do

• Design and develop system/board hardware, including PCB layout, for Cisco Switching, Routing, Wireless and Industrial products.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with signal integrity, diagnostics engineers, customer escalation engineers and external vendors.
• Identify root causes of customer and development issues, categorize failures and implement corrective measures using creative problem-solving.
• Collaborate with external vendors to ensure suitability and performance of high-performance components and alignment to project specifications.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering plus 5 years of experience, or Master's in Electrical or Computer Engineering plus 3 years of related experience, or PhD in Electrical or Computer Engineering plus 0 years of related experience.
• Focus on Board Design, Hardware Lab Test, and Qualification support.
• Experience in hardware engineering within the Networking Equipment industry.
• Understanding of the end-to-end product lifecycle from concept to production release and product sustaining.
• Solid technical knowledge and ability to guide technical failure analysis investigations and design optimization.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with contemporary hardware interfaces, CPU, USB, PCIe, Ethernet, high-speed SerDes, power and signal integrity, low-voltage, high-current power supplies, and distribution.
• Familiarity with mechanical and thermal designs, constraints, trade-offs, and how they affect product performance and reliability.
