Overview

Hardware Engineer role focused on advanced PCB design for high-complexity printed circuit boards within Cisco’s Hardware Engineering group.

What you'll do

• Lead end-to-end design of high-complexity PCBs with 30+ layers.
• Resolve complex design challenges by coordinating SI, MCAD, and manufacturing teams.
• Adopt new ECAD methodologies and automation tools (e.g., csh and Allegro scripts) to improve productivity and tool performance.
• Mentor junior engineers and conduct training on industry-standard ECAD processes.
• Apply SI, EMC, Safety, and DFM standards to support first-pass success.
• Collaborate with contract manufacturers and fabrication vendors to incorporate real-world feedback.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering with 5+ years in advanced PCB design, or Diploma with 8+ years.
• Experience designing high-complexity PCBs (30+ layers) using HDI and fine-pitch components.
• Hands-on ECAD proficiency with Cadence Allegro.
• Automation scripting proficiency using csh and Allegro scripts.
• Knowledge of PCB stack-up construction, fabrication/assembly processes, and Gerber generation.
• Working knowledge of EMC, Safety, and Signal Integrity standards plus mechanical design constraints.
