Overview

Hardware Engineering Technical Leader role at Cisco, serving as an expert and strategic leader for hardware engineering across Cisco's hardware portfolio, including system and board design, circuit board layout, hardware automation, validation and test, signal integrity and power design.

What you'll do

• Recognized as an expert within Cisco; proactively identifies and participates in the resolution of complex problems that impact the direction of the business.
• Develops and delivers innovative strategies that benefit customers and/or clients; leads major business projects which impact a region or entire function.
• Contributes to the development of annual organizational objectives/priorities.
• Requires specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in primary job family or field of specialization; serves as an advisor to management.
• Builds and maintains long-term relationships with key stakeholders to ensure products and services reflect the needs and direction of the business.
• Leads and executes projects that span several business segments, functions or regions.
• Drives innovation on large features from technical design through completion and mentors others.
• Owns the Hardware Engineering strategy within Cisco and the industry.
• Champions the innovation and design of new hardware devices and systems; defines the architecture, specifications, guidelines and standards for very complex hardware products.
• Influences the technical direction and deliverables across the function by leading design choices within the context of all Cisco offerings.
• Serves as technical expert on testing, verification and issue resolution approach; coordinates with appropriate stakeholders to integrate changes into the hardware design lifecycle.
• Resolves highly complex configuration and installation issues across multiple systems, ensuring issues are addressed in a systemic manner.
• Leads, mentors and influences senior engineers.
• Improves knowledge sharing processes.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree + 12 years of related experience, or Master's degree + 8 years of related experience, or PhD + 5 years of related experience.
