Head, Collections, UK/Europe

Overview

Head of Member Collections for Tide’s UK/Europe portfolios, owning and delivering the collections strategy. Reports to the SVP, Member Operations (UK/Europe).

What you'll do

• Lead a small but growing collections team across UK, Bulgaria, and India.
• Serve in Member Operations leadership and collaborate with Member Support, KYX, Ongoing Monitoring, and Complaints.
• Set Collections strategic direction in coordination with Risk & Compliance (2LOD), Tide Credit Services, Finance, and Legal.
• Optimise recovery rates via process optimisation and forbearing solutions while treating Members fairly and recognising vulnerability.
• Own relationships with debt collection agencies, oversee performance, and review contracts and alternatives.
• Work with product and data teams (and third-party suppliers) to improve collections tools/processes and automate unnecessary manual work.
• Improve management reporting and use robust data for insight and decision support.

What you'll need

• Hands-on experience as a collections leader, particularly for UK small business or consumer lending.
• Extensive subject matter expertise in credit collections and recovery optimisation.
• Comfort with a test & learn approach to improving collection and recovery rates.
• Proven leadership/management experience and a track record of delivering strategic plans.
• Experience working with product and data teams and articulating requirements/vision.
• In-depth knowledge of risk factors in collections and recovery, including mitigation.
• Data-driven approach and comfort with OKRs, KPIs, KRIs, SLAs, forecasting, budgeting, and planning.
