Head of Compliance Operations

Overview

Lead and scale the Compliance Ops team’s operating model for key financial-compliance workflows, including KYB/KYC, transaction monitoring, sanctions operations, and related case reviews.

What you'll do

• Lead Compliance Ops team members across KYB, KYC, transaction monitoring, sanctions, blockchain analytics, and risk/case review workflows.
• Own day-to-day operating model for analyst reviews, escalations, QA, backlog management, and case resolution.
• Design and maintain standards, review procedures, checklists, control processes, and operational playbooks.
• Build QA processes to identify review gaps and strengthen operational controls.
• Oversee operational review of alerts and events, ensuring escalation to Compliance and Legal.
• Own operational reporting on volumes, backlogs, SLA performance, QA findings, escalations, trends, and operational risks.
• Partner cross-functionally to operationalize requirements into tooling, workflows, controls, and execution standards.

What you'll need

• 15+ years of experience in compliance operations/financial crime/AML/KYC/KYB/sanctions/transaction monitoring or related areas.
• Significant experience leading teams and scaling operational functions in fintech/payments/banking/crypto/trading/financial services.
• Strong understanding of AML, sanctions, KYC, KYB, transaction monitoring, customer risk review, and suspicious activity escalation workflows.
• Experience building operational standards, review procedures, QA processes, control frameworks, and management reporting.
• Experience owning operational execution while partnering effectively with second line Compliance and Legal teams.
• Experience with case management systems, transaction monitoring tools, KYC/KYB vendors, sanctions screening tools, or blockchain analytics platforms.
• Strong people leadership (coaching, performance management, hiring, building team culture).
