Overview
Head of India Tax is responsible for leading and overseeing all tax matters for Castrol’s operations in India and Pakistan, including governance, compliance, risk management, and tax audits and disputes.
What you'll do
- Lead tax governance, compliance, and risk management across taxes affecting the business in scope.
- Manage tax audits, enquiries, investigations, and disputes with fiscal authorities.
- Provide tax advice and support to commercial operations across Corporate Income Tax, Indirect Taxes, Employment Taxes, and Transfer Pricing.
- Ensure timely and accurate tax filings, tax payments, and compliance obligations, including transfer pricing documentation.
- Oversee tax operations delivered through internal teams, outsourced providers, external advisers, and joint venture support arrangements.
- Act as the primary relationship holder with fiscal authorities across the jurisdictions within scope.
What you'll need
- Degree-level education with a relevant professional tax, accounting, or legal qualification.
- Extensive experience in tax planning, advisory, compliance, and risk management in a global or multinational environment.
- Strong knowledge of Indian tax legislation and practice including Corporate Income Tax, GST, Employment Taxes, and Transfer Pricing.
- Significant experience managing tax authorities, audits, enquiries, disputes, and regulatory interactions.
- Demonstrated experience providing practical, commercially focused tax advice to senior business partners.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills to influence across organizational levels.
Nice to have
- Experience with consumer products, manufacturing, or other complex multinational sectors.
- Experience handling Transitional Service Agreements and transitioning tax activities into standalone operating models.
