Tax Advisor - ROW

Overview

Tax Adviser (ROW) in BP’s Finance–Tax & Treasury team, covering India and Middle East jurisdictions as part of Rest of World tax responsibilities.

What you'll do

• Partner with BP businesses, functions, and embedded finance to provide multi-jurisdictional tax advice.
• Provide risk-led tax advice to support business objectives and ensure tax impacts are understood.
• Supervise developments in tax legislation and policy and guide their business impacts.
• Oversee direct and indirect tax compliance activities, including tax service arrangements and joint venture partners’ tax activities.
• Coordinate responses to tax authority requests and maintain governance and documentation.
• Support audits with technical inputs for tax submissions and coordinate work across relevant tax teams.

What you'll need

• Minimum 8-10 years of relevant industry experience.
• Education to at least minimum degree/masters level in accounting and finance.
• Solid understanding of Indian tax legislation and practice (Corporate Income Tax, GST, Employment Taxes, Transfer Pricing).
• Significant experience handling tax authorities, audits, enquiries, disputes, and regulatory interactions.
• Experience handling external advisers, outsourced service providers, and multi-party delivery models.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
