HPC Operations Engineer

Overview

As an HPC Operations Engineer, you ensure the reliable day-to-day operation of NVIDIA’s high-performance computing (HPC) environment.

What you'll do

• Provide first-line support for HPC users across scheduling, compute, storage, and access issues.
• Troubleshoot job failures, scheduler errors, resource constraints, and performance concerns.
• Triage infrastructure incidents by collecting diagnostics and escalating to subject matter experts (SMEs) when needed.
• Monitor system health, queues, node status, and service availability for stable daily operations.
• Execute operational procedures for maintenance, patching, and configuration updates.
• Develop and maintain operational documentation including runbooks and knowledge base articles.
• Improve team processes by identifying recurring issues and proposing workflow refinements.

What you'll need

• 2+ years of experience supporting Linux-based production environments.
• Solid Linux systems administration fundamentals (RHEL/CentOS and/or Ubuntu).
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues methodically and determine when a concern needs attention.
• Experience interacting directly with users in a technical support or operations role.
• Strong written communication skills for clear documentation and procedural guides.
• Ability to follow established processes with attention to detail.
