Imports & Labelling Ops Lead

Overview

Lead import operations for DePuy Synthes in Mumbai, covering shipment import, bonded warehouse and labelling operations, customs clearance, and related vendor and government coordination.

What you'll do

• Coordinate with overseas vendors and affiliates to ensure correct documentation and logistics arrangements.
• Arrange import customs clearance of raw materials and capital goods spares under various government schemes.
• Manage bonded warehouses and labelling of all products in line with local statutory laws and QA protocol.
• Verify and scrutinize all import documents before sending to CHA for customs clearance.
• Take precautions to avoid temperature excursion of import shipments.
• Evaluate and determine the best shipment mode to optimize logistics cost.
• Attend to notices or letters from government authorities in consultation with the Legal teams.
• Review and explore the possibilities of re-export and re-import of materials.
• Maintain documents and records, and follow up on NIB sampling.
• Identify and negotiate with freight forwarding companies and CHAs to optimize logistics cost and improve service level.
• Develop vendors, compare quotations, negotiate prices, and process vendor bills for payment.
• Ensure and maintain internal audit compliance.
• Handle banking documentation, including GR waiver, FIRC and TT payment applications, and bill of entry submission.
• Manage relationships with freight forwarders, CHAs and DGFT agents.
• Prepare import statements, MIS reports and import data analysis.

• Cost conscious and a strong negotiator.
• Responsible for interaction and collaboration with customers and vendors.
• Accountable for financial compliance in accordance with all policies.
• Compliance with regulatory norms, SOPs, statutory guidelines, and company policies.
