Overview

Associate Index Researcher role in BlackRock Global Markets and Index Investments, supporting index methodology and analytics through index projections and financial data analytics.

What you'll do

• Produce high-quality, forward-looking index projections that inform investor trade decisions.
• Research expected index changes, corporate actions, and major index rebalances using statistical analysis.
• Help define and build an Index Research Analytics platform.
• Collaborate with Quantitative Research to apply modeling techniques for index investing challenges.
• Partner with index strategy and product teams using benchmark analysis.
• Apply advanced data science techniques on complex financial data to generate value.
• Design and implement risk controls to detect anomalies in index data and methodologies.

What you'll need

• 3-7 years of relevant experience.
• Master's degree (or equivalent) in Finance, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, or related field.
• Programming skills: Python and SQL.
• Strong quantitative and analytical problem-solving abilities.
• Strong understanding of index construction and methodology concepts.
• Strong understanding of index investing across equity, fixed income, derivatives, and digital assets (digital assets noted as a plus).
• Excellent verbal and written communication, teamwork, and relationship-building skills.

Nice to have

• Data science, data management, and data visualization tools and techniques.
• Experience with Aladdin tools and knowledge of Aladdin data sources, plus.
• Bloomberg and FactSet knowledge, advantage.
