Infrastructure Tax Lead

Overview

Infrastructure Tax Lead responsible for end-to-end tax ownership across Anthropic’s compute infrastructure investment portfolio, embedded with the Infrastructure team and coordinating across multiple finance and tax functions.

What you'll do

• Act as the embedded tax partner during Infrastructure deal intake.
• Gather facts on site specifications, counterparty structure, and commercial contracting for tax clauses.
• Develop and operationalize datacenter entity structures across jurisdictions.
• Coordinate incentives planning with state/local incentives and site selection tax input.
• Advise on lease-versus-purchase treatment, consolidation questions, capitalization policy, and book-tax differences.
• Partner on transfer pricing policy for intercompany compute pricing, benchmarking, and documentation.
• Ensure quarterly tax provision impact is captured for new structures and deferred tax positions.

What you'll need

• In-house tax experience at a hyperscaler, cloud provider, or large-scale datacenter operator.
• Experience standing up and maintaining entity structures across multiple jurisdictions.
• Working fluency in cross-border withholding, permanent establishment analysis, and debt-versus-equity characterization.
• Track record of owning integrated tax position across a portfolio of deals from term sheet to post-close.
• Cross-functional coordination experience across Legal, Accounting, FP&A, and business teams.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication for translating complex tax positions into guidance.
• Comfort with ambiguity and building processes from scratch in a fast-moving environment.

Details

• Work location policy: hybrid, expected to be in an office at least 25% of the time.
• Visa sponsorship: sponsored for some roles and candidates.
• Annual compensation range: $300,000–$385,000 USD.
