Intern - Data Science

Overview

Intern to support the Manufacturing Engineering team in building an automated Off-hold Tracking solution and reducing manual data compilation in the Factory Quality Assurance Process (FQAP).

What you'll do

• Assist in building an automated system to track Off-hold status.
• Perform basic data extraction and cleaning on FQAP-related data.
• Create simple reports or dashboards for Off-hold tracking results.
• Understand existing manual workflows with team members.
• Validate data by comparing automated outputs to current manual records.
• Prepare basic documentation and share progress updates in team meetings.

What you'll need

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Information Technology (penultimate or final year).
• Basic knowledge of at least one programming language (e.g., Python or R).
• Willingness to learn new tools and technologies.
• Ability to commit for the internship duration of 3–6 months.
• Good attitude, curiosity, and willingness to ask questions.
• Basic programming skills (Python, R, or VBA) and fundamental data handling (sorting, filtering, basic analysis).
• Intermediate familiarity with Microsoft Excel.

Nice to have

• Exposure to data analysis concepts via coursework or personal projects.
• Basic familiarity with Excel (formulas, pivot tables).
• Some awareness of databases or SQL (even from coursework).
• Interest in automation or process improvement.
• Interest in visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.).
