Internal Auditor

Overview

Internal Auditor for SOC 1/2 and SOX audits, owning audit workstreams and translating findings into business risk and remediation plans.

What you'll do

• Coordinate SOC 1 and SOC 2 evidence requests, walkthroughs, and testing with control owners and external auditors.
• Perform control testing across SOC 1/2 in-scope processes, and flag issues by escalating gaps or delays.
• Review evidence for completeness and audit-readiness, and flag early control gaps or exceptions.
• Maintain and update the control matrix and narratives as processes, systems, or ownership change.
• Execute SOX audit procedures end-to-end, including planning, fieldwork, testing, and reporting.
• Translate audit findings into business risk statements and recommend practical, risk-proportionate remediation, then track action items to closure.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• 4–6 years of experience in audit, controls, risk, or compliance.
• Ability to own a workstream end-to-end with minimal supervision and coordinate multiple stakeholders to a timeline.
• Strong written and verbal communication to explain control requirements clearly to non-audit stakeholders.
• Solid documentation habits including clear workpapers, evidence trails, and status tracking.

Nice to have

• Exposure to SaaS or cloud environments for SOC 1/2 work.
• Prior SOC 1/2 and SOX controls testing experience.
• Familiarity with a controls management platform (e.g., AuditBoard).
• Progress toward or completion of CPA, CA, or CIA.
• Advanced Microsoft Office / Microsoft 365 skills.
