IT Product Owner, VP

Overview

Vice President-level IT Product Owner responsible for the product vision and roadmap of a strategic data warehousing migration to Google Cloud (GCP) at Deutsche Bank, working with business owners, delivery teams and solution architects.

What you'll do

• Develop, create and communicate the product vision and roadmap with business owners, delivery teams and solution/system architects.
• Serve as strategic Product Owner driving the transition toward strategic data warehousing solutions on Google Cloud (GCP).
• Translate business objectives, regulatory expectations and investigative needs into a prioritized product roadmap that enables compliance, efficiency and risk reduction.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to align feature development with business priorities and migration milestones.
• Ensure development work is tightly aligned to user value and strategic goals.
• Own the product vision for the migration, working with several teams to define integration points, decommissioning timelines and MVP delivery plans.
• Monitor and track platform transition progress, proactively resolving blockers, refining scope and communicating impact to leadership and delivery teams.
• Champion continuous improvement across Agile ways of working, contributing to velocity gains, stakeholder visibility and delivery predictability.
• Act as change leader, supporting business readiness, user adoption and training to ensure successful platform onboarding and operational continuity.
• Develop as an SME and primary point of contact and liaison with relevant Business and Engineering stakeholders, giving timely, transparent, metric-driven updates.
• Ensure adherence to the Bank's and domain's testing standards, with focus on further efficiencies through automated testing.
• Provide management, leadership and technical/domain guidance to teams across multiple locations and act as senior escalation point for all stakeholders.
• Participate in the end-to-end development cycle working closely with squad teams following the domain's development model.
• Guide team members in adopting Scrum principles and practices and help them improve their skills and collaboration.
• Foster a positive and productive team environment, encouraging open communication, conflict resolution and collaboration.
• Empower team members to take ownership of their work, make decisions and solve problems.
• Facilitate knowledge sharing and skill development within the team and encourage collaboration with other teams.
• Help team members provide and receive constructive feedback and facilitate continuous improvement efforts.
• Help resolve conflicts and impediments within the team and facilitate open discussions to find solutions.
• Facilitate communication and collaboration between the team and stakeholders, ensuring expectations are aligned and managed.

What you'll need

• 10+ years' experience as Product Owner and Product Manager in an agile environment.
• 8+ years' experience working on data warehousing projects executed on Google Cloud environment.
• Technical skills including data warehousing concepts and Google Cloud Platform: BigQuery, Cloud SQL, Cloud Composer, GKE, pipelines set up using DataProc, Python.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to communicate at all levels of seniority, with proven experience successfully driving roadmaps and delivery of large-scale Regulatory, Risk, Data or Transformation Programs.
• Proven experience with prioritization techniques, refinement, grooming and challenges with backlog management.
• Knowledge and experience of the Finance domain.
• Agile & Product mindset.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Ability to work in virtual teams and in matrix organizations.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Evidence of team player, mentoring or driving team objectives.
• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in Computer Science or Software Engineering (or equivalent), with a minor in Finance, Mathematics or Engineering.

Nice to have

• Avaloq Core banking experience.
• Experience in any phase of Transaction Monitoring and Reporting, and/or Private Banking.
• Experience with Agile Testing and Engineering techniques.
• Experience with JIRA and Confluence.
• Experience in using AI tools to achieve increased productivity.
• Product Owner, Product Manager or Business Analyst certifications from recognized institutes/courses.
• Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, optimise workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs.

• Role may not have direct line management initially; people skills are critical.
