Java Developer

Overview

Capco is seeking a Java Developer for its Securities Finance Technology team. The role focuses on designing and building a next-generation automated locates platform supporting securities lending operations.

What you'll do

• Design and develop a scalable, high-performance automated locates platform for the securities finance business.
• Build distributed systems and enterprise-grade applications leveraging Java, Spring frameworks, and container technologies.
• Integrate with messaging systems and caching solutions for real-time processing.
• Develop and optimize SQL-based data models and queries for high-volume transactional systems.
• Implement cloud-native solutions using AWS services.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with existing securities finance workflows.

What you'll need

• Hands-on experience in Core Java, Spring frameworks, and container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• A proven track record in building distributed systems and enterprise-grade applications using microservices architecture.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and relational database design, including MS SQL and MySQL.
• Experience with Redis caching and messaging systems such as Kafka, MQ, SQS, and SNS.
• Proficiency in leveraging GitHub Copilot or Claude for productivity gains and to improve code quality.
• Analytical thinking and the ability to break down complex problems and design efficient, scalable solutions.
• Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with other developers, business analysts, QA, and operations teams.
• Clear and concise verbal and written communication for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Precision and thoroughness in coding, testing, and documentation.
• Initiative and responsibility for delivering high-quality solutions.
• Strong independence and resourcefulness, with the ability to quickly adapt and deliver results without requiring close supervision.
