Junior Coder - Profee

Overview

Junior coder role on the Profee coding operations team, assigning ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS and E&M codes from patient records while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.

What you'll do

• Assign appropriate ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes accurately and in compliance with all regulatory and reimbursement requirements.
• Assign E&M levels and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Review patient records with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Communicate and collaborate effectively with clinical staff.
• Use EHR systems and coding software.
• Work independently and meet deadlines.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives.

What you'll need

• Strong knowledge and experience in ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS coding systems.
• Minimum 0-6 months of experience in E&M coding specialty.
• Mandatory CPC certification.
• Must be a graduate.
• Good communication and analytical skills.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in MS Office/Excel.
• Knowledge of coding software or encoders (3M, Trucode, Optum).
• Familiarity with EMR systems (EPIC, Cerner, etc.).
