Junior Cyber Security Analyst – SOC 2135

About the role

Europa Solutions Limited is looking for a Junior Cyber Security Analyst to help protect our systems, websites, applications, networks and business information from cyber threats. You will sit within the technology team, working alongside developers and IT staff to spot security risks early, investigate alerts and put sensible controls in place.

What you'll do

• Monitor systems and review security alerts to identify unusual or suspicious activity
• Analyse system logs to investigate potential security incidents and document your findings clearly
• Support vulnerability scanning and security assessments across networks, web applications and endpoints
• Help implement and maintain security controls such as access controls, authentication and firewall rules
• Work with developers and IT teams to raise awareness of OWASP risks and support data protection requirements

What we're looking for

• A basic understanding of cyber-security principles and common threats, vulnerabilities and attack techniques
• Working knowledge of network security, including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS and firewalls
• Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems
• Understanding of identity, authentication and access-control principles
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with clear written and verbal communication

Nice to have

• Basic knowledge of web application security and OWASP principles
• Hands-on experience with vulnerability scanning or security assessment tools
• Exposure to data protection and information-security requirements
