Junior Engineer - Component Engineering

Overview

Junior Engineer - Component Engineering role in Chennai supporting teams that build products by managing component data, quality reviews, and component obsolescence.

What you'll do

• Enter and maintain component data, manufacturer information, and approved vendor lists in a global component database.
• Create and manage component database entries for Electrical/Electronic and Indirect materials.
• Review component parameter attributes from datasheets and validate MPNs with alternates.
• Monitor component EOL and manage component obsolescence.
• Implement product component changes with a cross-functional team and coordinate with engineering/materials.
• Respond to internal and customer queries on component specifications and generate reports/dashboards.
• Conduct root cause analysis, support continuous improvement in procurement execution, and train team members.

What you'll need

• B.E. graduate in ECE/EEE/E&I.
• 0-2 years of experience as a Component Engineer in a manufacturing setup.
• Experience in NPI (New Product Introduction) and BOM (Bill of Materials) management.
• Hands-on experience in semiconductor sourcing/analysis.
• Working knowledge of ERP, preferably BAAN.
• Hands-on experience in any PLM software.
• Good analytical skills, logical thinking, and coaching/mentoring skills, with English communication skills.
