Junior GIS Specialist

Overview

Junior GIS Specialist to help develop, maintain, and analyze geospatial data and GIS applications, including mapping, spatial analysis, and BIM-GIS integration support.

What you'll do

• Assist in creating, maintaining, and managing GIS databases and geospatial datasets.
• Support spatial analysis, mapping, and data visualization for infrastructure and urban development projects.
• Prepare maps, layouts, dashboards, and geospatial reports.
• Help with BIM-GIS integration workflows and data exchange between GIS and BIM platforms.
• Support data conversion, migration, and transformation using tools such as FME.
• Perform data quality checks, validation, and updates for accuracy and consistency.

What you'll need

• 1 to 3 years of relevant GIS experience.
• Bachelor's degree/master's degree in GIS, Geography, Geoinformatics, Geomatics, or related fields.
• Basic understanding of GIS concepts, spatial analysis, cartography, and geospatial data management.
• Hands-on experience with ArcGIS Pro and/or QGIS.
• Familiarity with coordinate systems, projections, and geospatial data formats.
• Knowledge of spatial databases and SQL.
• Basic scripting knowledge in Python is desirable.

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of FME.
• Basic understanding of BIM-GIS integration concepts.
• Familiarity with remote sensing datasets and imagery interpretation.
• Domain expertise in urban planning, environmental management, or natural resource management.

• Willingness to travel within India as required for project work.
