Junior Software Engineer with Accounting Experience (LATAM)

Overview

Junior Software Engineer role with accounting experience, working on software solutions for financial processes in a remote setup in Colombia.

What you'll do

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance and maintain software solutions for financial processes.
• Participate in the software development lifecycle and help develop new features.
• Use accounting background to identify gaps and improve automation and reconciliation workflows.
• Evaluate and deploy software tools, processes, and metrics.
• Provide support and consulting on software system usage.
• Ensure compliance with project plans and industry standards.

What you'll need

• Prior experience as an accountant or financial analyst.
• Solid understanding of financial operations including reconciliation, reporting, and compliance.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, Go).
• Familiarity with database systems like MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• Experience with backend API development.
• Experience with relational database storage and retrieval.
• Demonstrated experience working with Claude or equivalent large language model tools is required.
