L2 Splunk DevOps Engineer

Overview

Splunk DevOps Engineer responsible for designing, developing, and automating Splunk monitoring solutions within the RTM ecosystem.

What you'll do

• Design and develop Splunk dashboards, interactive reports, saved searches, lookups, and alert frameworks.
• Build custom Splunk Apps and Add-ons or customize Splunkbase apps.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines to automate Splunk app deployment, testing, and configuration management.
• Optimize SPL queries for search efficiency, resource utilization, and performance.
• Manage data onboarding, including field extractions and parsing via regex and automated ingestion routines.
• Use Python and Shell scripting to automate maintenance, configuration updates, and integrations.
• Collaborate in Agile rituals to deliver monitoring capabilities and propose/enforce technical standards.

What you'll need

• 4+ years industry experience specializing in Splunk development and DevOps automation.
• Expert/intermediate experience creating custom Splunk Apps/Add-ons and managing advanced alerts.
• Hands-on experience with Git/GitHub and CI/CD tools like Jenkins or GitLab CI and deployment automation tools such as Ansible/Puppet.
• Practical knowledge of Splunk architecture components (e.g., forwarders, indexers, deployment server, search heads, license manager).
• Expert proficiency in optimized SPL queries and regular expressions for data extraction.
• Hands-on proficiency in Python and Shell scripting for automation and custom integrations.
• Strong practical knowledge of Linux (RHEL/Ubuntu) and Windows environments.
