Lead. Application Engineer II

Overview

Lead presales engineering for digital building technology solutions, supporting customers and sales teams with technical discovery, solution design, proposals, and demonstrations.

What you'll do

• Develop presales strategies aligned with business goals.
• Review customer requirements and define digital solution scope.
• Prepare RFP/RFI responses, technical proposals, compliance matrices, BoQs, sizing calculations, and architecture diagrams.
• Design solutions integrating PLC/SCADA, BMS platforms, analytics, digital twins, and enterprise FM platforms.
• Conduct requirement workshops, technical discovery sessions, and proofs of concept.
• Lead and mentor design teams on OT/IoT protocols, data ingestion, middleware integration, and deployment patterns.
• Coordinate proposal delivery, commercials, risks, commitments, and cross-functional accountability.

What you'll need

• 8–10+ years of experience as a presales engineer in bid and proposal delivery.
• Expertise designing building technology solutions such as BMS, security, fire, and lighting.
• Hands-on experience with IoT gateway configuration and device onboarding to cloud.
• Knowledge of OT/IT protocols including BACnet, Modbus, OPC, MQTT, SNMP, and AMQP.
• Knowledge of HVAC or industrial process control, IT-OT integration, and API integration.
• Knowledge of networking, servers, virtualization, clustering, cloud IoT platforms, and analytics tools.
• Strong communication, presentation, problem-solving, and customer-oriented skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with SCADA platforms such as WinCC, Iconics, or Ignition.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Azure.
• Familiarity with energy management, digital twins, digital asset management, and BRICK schema concepts.
