Lead CAD Engineer - Methods & Tools

Overview

Lead CAD Engineer responsible for developing and extending CAD/PLM solutions using C++, CAA, 3DEXPERIENCE, and EKL in complex engineering environments.

What you'll do

• Design and maintain C++ and CAA plugins for CATIA V6 and 3DEXPERIENCE.
• Use EKL to implement engineering rules, templates, parameterization, and automated workflows.
• Translate engineering requirements into scalable software solutions.
• Conduct code reviews, unit testing, and debugging within the CAA framework.
• Lead and mentor junior CAD developers.
• Provide technical direction on CAA and EKL practices.

What you'll need

• At least 8 years of professional CAD application development experience.
• Experience in automotive or aerospace industries.
• Deep proficiency in C++ object-oriented programming, memory management, and design patterns.
• Mastery of CAA V5/V6 and the 3DEXPERIENCE platform API.
• Hands-on experience with EKL, Knowledge Templates, and Rule/Reaction scripts.
• Familiarity with 3DEXPERIENCE architecture, data models, and PLM integration patterns.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of automotive or aerospace product development processes.
• Experience with Python automation, web services, or SQL.
• Familiarity with Agile, Git/SVN, and CI/CD pipelines.
