Overview
Lead the requirements, design, implementation, and testing of digital control systems for HVDC Control & Protection. Coordinate system integration across IEC61850-based components, industrial networks, and HMI/SCADA.
What you'll do
- Oversee the end-to-end technical solution aligned to customer requirements.
- Lead requirement, design, implementation, and testing of HVDC digital control systems including network and cybersecurity design.
- Lead IEC61850 IED configuration using vendor tools and system configuration tools.
- Generate SCL (Substation Configuration Description Language) files for system integration.
- Design, configure, and test HVDC Control System hardware delivery within budget and timelines.
- Test and debug complex IEC61850 communications using tools such as IEDScout and Wireshark.
- Coordinate HVDC Control System interfaces with Balance of Plant equipment and SCADA systems.
What you'll need
- Minimum 10-12 years’ experience in control and protection system design.
- Degree in Electronics/Electrical engineering or related field.
- Strong background configuring Substation Bay Controllers/Merging Units/IEC61850 IEDs and HMI/SCADA technologies.
- Knowledge of industrial communication networks such as IEC61850 and Ethernet-based protocols.
- Knowledge of control & protection relay logic design techniques.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices including industrial communication security/hardening.
- Excellent knowledge of Layer2 & Layer3 protocols including IPv4, OSPF, LACP, DMZ, VPN, DMS/ADMS/DNP, IEC, and Modbus.
