Lead Engineer - AI Payments App

Overview

Lead Engineer (AI Payments App) responsible for technical ownership of complex products and systems and raising engineering standards across the team.

What you'll do

• Lead technical design and execution of major products, features, and engineering initiatives.
• Design scalable, reliable, and maintainable systems across backend, frontend, APIs, databases, and infrastructure.
• Stay hands-on with development via coding, prototyping, code reviews, debugging, and production issue solving.
• Make architecture decisions and balance trade-offs across speed, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Review technical designs and code, and provide actionable feedback to other engineers.
• Own systems beyond release by monitoring production, investigating incidents, resolving root causes, and improving reliability.
• Mentor engineers and strengthen technical capability across the team.

What you'll need

• Significant experience building and shipping production systems.
• Technical expertise in one or more areas such as backend, frontend, distributed systems, APIs, databases, or cloud infrastructure.
• Strong system design and architecture skills for complex or high-scale systems.
• Proven experience leading major engineering projects or providing technical leadership to other engineers.
• Comfort reviewing code, debugging complex issues, and working directly with production systems.
• Ability to explain complex technical decisions clearly and influence engineers across teams.
