Overview

Lead Engineer - AI Payments App is a hands-on technical leadership role focused on owning complex products and systems and raising the engineering bar across the team.

What you'll do

• Lead technical design and execution for major products, features, and initiatives.
• Design scalable, reliable, maintainable systems across backend, frontend, APIs, databases, and infrastructure.
• Stay hands-on with coding, prototyping, code reviews, debugging, and production problem-solving.
• Make architecture decisions and technical trade-offs balancing speed, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Break ambiguous problems into clear engineering solutions and execution plans.
• Own systems beyond release by monitoring production, investigating incidents, resolving root causes, and improving reliability.
• Mentor engineers and provide actionable feedback on designs and code.

What you'll need

• Significant experience building and shipping production systems.
• Deep expertise in one or more areas such as backend, frontend, distributed systems, APIs, databases, or cloud infrastructure.
• Strong system design and architecture skills for complex or high-scale systems.
• Proven experience leading major engineering projects or providing technical leadership to other engineers.
• Comfort reviewing code, debugging complex issues, and working directly with production systems.
• Ability to explain complex technical decisions and influence engineers across teams.
