Overview

Lead Engineer - AI Payments App is a hands-on technical leadership role responsible for owning the design and execution of complex products and systems.

What you'll do

• Own the technical design and delivery of major products, features, and engineering initiatives.
• Design scalable, reliable, maintainable systems across backend, frontend, APIs, databases, and infrastructure.
• Stay hands-on with coding, prototyping, code reviews, debugging, and production issue solving.
• Make architecture decisions and technical trade-offs balancing speed, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Break ambiguous problems into clear engineering solutions and execution plans.
• Mentor engineers and raise standards for code quality, system design, testing, security, observability, and production reliability.
• Monitor production post-release, investigate incidents, resolve root causes, and improve reliability.

What you'll need

• Significant experience building and shipping production systems.
• Deep technical expertise in one or more areas such as backend, frontend, distributed systems, APIs, databases, or cloud infrastructure.
• Strong system design and architecture skills for complex or high-scale systems.
• Ability and willingness to remain hands-on with coding and debugging.
• Proven experience leading major engineering projects or providing technical leadership.
• Comfort reviewing code, debugging complex issues, and working with production systems.
• Ability to explain complex technical decisions and influence engineers across teams.
