Lead Engineer - Travel FX App

Overview

Lead Engineer for the Travel FX app, providing hands-on technical leadership and taking ownership of complex systems end-to-end.

What you'll do

• Lead technical design and execution of major products, features, and engineering initiatives.
• Design scalable, reliable, maintainable systems across backend, frontend, APIs, databases, and infrastructure.
• Stay hands-on with coding, prototyping, code reviews, debugging, and production problem-solving.
• Make architecture decisions and technical trade-offs balancing speed, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Break ambiguous problems into solutions and execution plans.
• Drive production reliability by monitoring, investigating incidents, resolving root causes, and improving continuously.

What you'll need

• Significant experience building and shipping production systems.
• Deep technical expertise in one or more areas such as backend, frontend, distributed systems, APIs, databases, or cloud infrastructure.
• Strong system design and architecture skills for complex or high-scale systems.
• Proven experience leading major engineering projects or providing technical leadership.
• Comfort reviewing code, debugging complex issues, and working with production systems.
• Strong ability to explain complex technical decisions clearly and influence engineers across teams.
