Lead Engineer-Electronics (Hardware)

Overview

Lead a team responsible for the complete electronic product lifecycle development and in-service support of Cabin Systems for Airbus aircraft programs.

What you'll do

• Contribute concept creation for new electronic equipment and provide inputs to specification and planning processes.
• Organize and review development of electronic equipment in the context of the aviation certification process.
• Establish good lab practices and maintain the Electronics Lab required to perform functional testing of electronic products.
• Generate all needed design data for electronic products.
• Develop electronic devices for cabin/systems, including digital and analog design and initial operation and verification of prototypes.
• Create and evaluate documents for supplier selection and monitor subcontractors.
• Perform functional and environmental qualification testing according to aviation requirements (EMC, vibration, temperature, etc.).
• Create and verify documents for certification and for production of equipment.
• Coordinate with project management, the software department, production technology and quality management teams.

What you'll need

• B.Tech./M.Tech. in Electrical, Electronics, Aerospace Engineering or similar.
• 12+ years of experience in electronic product development.
• Awareness of current electronic technologies, architectures, standards and market trends.
• Hands-on experience using schematic generation tools and requirement management tools such as DOORS.
• Proven knowledge of different phases of electronic design such as requirement generation, detailed design, schematic generation, board bring-up testing and functional testing.
• Knowledge of certification according to RTCA DO-254.
• Experience in qualification testing according to DO-160 or similar standards.
• Understanding of the FPGA development life cycle, including source code design and test bench based verification.
• Strong problem solving and logical thinking ability.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Flexibility and adaptability to different work streams based on stage of development lifecycle.
• Ability to work well in a global team environment.
