Overview
Lead the global engineering function for Deutsche Bank’s Treasury Engineering product portfolio, covering Treasury trading, balance-sheet management and liquidity reporting. Develop and operate high-quality, cloud-enabled platforms and transaction-processing systems while solving complex business and technical challenges and managing senior stakeholders.
What you'll do
- Lead the Global Engineering function across strategic locations based at Pune, Bucharest, London and New York.
- Communicate with senior business stakeholders regarding vision and business goals.
- Provide transparency to program status and manage risks and issues.
- Lead a culture of innovation and experimentation.
- Support the full software development lifecycle using technology approaches and delivery methodologies.
- Ensure on-time, high-quality product releases for next-generation trade-processing systems compliant with regulatory requirements.
- Lead development of cloud-enabled platforms using modern web frameworks and complex transaction-processing systems across a broad technology stack.
- Build fault-tolerant, low-latency and scalable solutions at global enterprise scale.
- Implement the engineering talent strategy aligned to the broader Treasury Technology talent strategy and operating model.
- Develop applications using industry best practices, DevOps and automated deployment and testing frameworks.
- Lead a team of technologists to develop applications to high standards.
- Take ownership of platform quality, development automation, agile processes and production resiliency.
- Lead senior managers toward common goals and build consensus across a diverse group.
- Lead and influence diverse teams from technical and non-technical backgrounds.
What you'll need
- 18+ years of experience in the stated areas.
- Well-developed requirements-analysis skills, including communication abilities in speaking and listening and stakeholder management up to Managing Director level.
- Experience in IT delivery or architecture, including experience as an Application Developer and people manager.
- Strong object-oriented design skills.
- Previous experience hiring, motivating and managing internal and vendor teams.
- Experience implementing DevOps best practices, including CI/CD and API-testing automation.
- Experience working in an Agile-based team.
- Java, ideally Spark and Scala.
- Oracle, PostgreSQL or other database technologies.
- Experience developing microservices-based architectures.
- UI design and implementation.
- Business process management tools, such as JBPM and IBM BPM.
- Experience with a range of BI technologies, including Tableau.
- Experience with DevOps best practices, DORA and CI/CD.
- Experience in application security, scalability, performance tuning and optimization, including NFRs.
- Experience designing APIs, sound knowledge of microservices and containerization with Docker, and exposure to federated and NoSQL databases.
- Experience in database query tuning and optimization.
- Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity and optimize workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment for responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs.
- Good verbal and written communication and presentation capabilities.
- Ability to work as a team player, facilitator-negotiator and networker.
Nice to have
- Experience with cloud services platforms, particularly Google Cloud, and internal cloud-based development using Cloud Run, Cloud Composer, Cloud SQL, Docker and Kubernetes.
- Hands-on knowledge of enterprise technology platforms supporting Front Office, Finance or Risk domains.
- Experience or interest in Sustainable Finance.
- Knowledge of the Finance/controlling domain and end-to-end workflows for banking and trading businesses.
- High-level understanding of financial products across Investment, Corporate and Private/Retail banking, particularly Loans.
- Knowledge of investment banking, sales and trading, asset management and similar industries.
- Experience working with Front Office business teams.
