Lead Java Engineer

Overview

Lead Java Engineer to design, develop, and lead backend software for scientific instruments and platforms.

What you'll do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications and services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Define backend design principles, coding standards, and engineering best practices.
• Design and develop secure, reliable RESTful APIs including contracts, models, error handling, and versioning.
• Design database models (relational and/or NoSQL) and optimize queries, indexing, and data-access layers.
• Integrate backend applications with databases, third-party services, and internal/external systems.
• Provide technical leadership via code reviews, technical guidance, and mentoring backend developers.

What you'll need

• 4–6 years of overall software development experience with significant backend development experience.
• Hands-on expertise in Java and object-oriented programming.
• Strong experience with Spring Boot and the wider Spring ecosystem.
• Strong experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Experience with relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server.
• Proficiency in SQL and database query optimization.
