Java Developer

Overview

Java Developer for Citi’s Equity Derivatives Trade Management team in Pune, building scalable enterprise-grade Java backend applications.

What you'll do

• Design and develop scalable Java backend applications for the Equity Derivatives business.
• Deliver software across the full development lifecycle from requirements through deployment and support.
• Translate business and client requirements into technical designs and effort estimates.
• Conduct code reviews and test case reviews to meet quality and functional requirements.
• Identify and communicate delivery risks with sufficient lead time.
• Collaborate with front office, operations, and product teams to propose technical solutions.

What you'll need

• 5 to 8 years of hands-on backend development experience in Core Java (version 1.7 or above).
• Solid object-oriented programming knowledge for maintainable, extensible code.
• Working knowledge of SQL to write and interpret queries.
• Experience integrating with messaging middleware such as Tibco EMS, Solace, or IBM MQ.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership with minimal supervision.
• Experience contributing across requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, and delivery.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with HTML5 and React.js for potential front-end integration work.
• Experience in capital markets/trading/financial services technology with exposure to equity derivatives.
• Exposure to agile delivery environments and evolving priorities.
