Lead Software Engineer - Full Stack (Java, Micro-services, React/Angular)

Overview

Lead Software Engineer (Full Stack) for Ethoca Smart Subscriptions within Mastercard, building scalable, API-driven platforms for subscription payment visibility and control.

What you'll do

• Act as a technical lead to deliver end-to-end product development.
• Build full-stack solutions using microservices, event-driven architectures, and cloud-native technologies.
• Ensure quality, performance, security, and other NFR benchmarks.
• Mentor and guide engineering teams and drive adoption of best practices and new technologies.
• Collaborate with global stakeholders across Product, Business, Architecture, and engineering.
• Lead initiatives to improve automation, engineering efficiency, and product quality.
• Drive POCs and technology decisions aligned with business and platform needs.

What you'll need

• 10–15 years of hands-on experience as a technologist.
• Strong object-oriented design and clean coding practices in Java (SOLID principles).
• Expertise in microservices, event-driven architecture, and scalable system design.
• Experience with Spring Boot, cloud platforms, and Agile (SAFe) delivery models.
• Proven experience building real-time, high-scale applications.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across global teams.
• Ability to mentor teams and drive technical excellence.
