Lead Java Engineer

Overview

Lead Java Engineer role providing technical leadership and architectural guidance while developing scalable, secure backend software solutions.

What you'll do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications and services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Define backend design principles, coding standards, and engineering best practices.
• Design and implement secure, reliable RESTful APIs including contracts, models, error handling, and versioning.
• Design database models and optimize queries, indexing, and data-access layers.
• Integrate backend applications with databases, third-party services, enterprise platforms, and external systems.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to engineering and secure coding standards.
• Mentor engineers and drive improvements in automated testing, CI/CD, deployment, and observability.

What you'll need

• 12–15 years of overall software development experience with significant backend experience.
• Strong hands-on expertise in Java and object-oriented programming.
• Strong experience with Spring Boot and the broader Spring ecosystem.
• Strong experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Good understanding of API design principles, HTTP standards, authentication, authorization, and error handling.
• Experience with relational databases including Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, or equivalents.
• Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
